I consider it a great privilege to make a statement on religious and social services that are worthy of the name “Pinketha Meditation Center and Don Dines Memorial Library” in Yakkalamulla. Mr. N. H. Chandrapala, spouse Madam Lalitha Chandrapala and daughter Mrs. Dr. Amila Chandrapala, residents of the Riverside Town, in State of California in United States of America, has been exemplary followers of Lord Buddha’s character and I appreciate the fact that the religious and social work done by them following the Lord Buddha’s sermon “Bahujan Hithaya, Bahujana Sukaaya” (for the betterment and for the healing of all the people) with their wealth and labor for the benefit of the people which is a “Bosath Quality” (Quality of the discreet one) ; is not only confined to temples in America but also to the mother country of Sri Lanka.

I am also reminded of the great service rendered by Mr. Chandrapala as the Chairman of the Subscription Council/committee (Dayaka Sabhawa) of our Sambuddaloka Buddhist Center for its development. Through my 20 years of close association and experience, I can say that the various religious activities conducted within a year; by the Chandrapala family with the help of their brothers and sisters, have benefited thousands of people.  

 I declare without hesitation that even after five years of the establishment of “Pinketha Meditation Center” it could engage on the monthly religious sermons and meditation programs, the use of the library for the children who are engaged in studies, the annual scholarships, providing houses of low income families, centered around it was possible owing to the fact that they could treat the whole world as their relations as per the Sanskrit Text “Udara Charithananthu Vasudaiwa Kutumbhikam” and I wish this could set an example to others in the world in doing such noble deeds.

I wish the “Pinketha Meditation Center and Library the blessing of the Triple Gem and the protection of Gods for an exemplary service ahead.

“පිංකෙත භාවනා මධ්‍යස්ථානය සහ දොන් දිනෙස් අනුස්මරණ පුස්තකාලය” යක්කලමුල්ල පිංකෙත භාවනා ඹධ්‍යස්ථානය නමට සරිලන ආකාරයෙන් සිදුකෙරෙන ආගමික හා සමාජීය සේවාවන් පිළිබඳව ප්‍රකාශයක් කිරීමට ලැබීම විශාල භාග්‍යයක් ලෙස සලකමි. ඇමරිකාවේ කැලිෆෝනියා ප්‍රාන්තයේ රිවර්සයිඩ් නගරයෙහි පදිංචි එන්.එච්.චන්ද්‍රපාල මැතිතුමා, ලලිතා චන්ද්‍රපාල මැතිණිය සහ දියණිය ආචාර්ය අමිලා චන්ද්‍රපාල මහත්මිය ඉතසිතින් බුද්ධ චරිතයෙන් ආදර්ශ ලබා “බහුජන හිතාය, බහුජන සුඛාය” යන දේශනයට අනුව යමින් බොහෝදෙනාගේ හිතසුව පිණිස සිය ධනයෙන් හා ශ්‍රමයෙන් සිදුකරනු ලබන ආගමික-සමාජීය සේවය ඇමරිකාවේ විහාරස්ථාන වලට පමණක් සීමා නොවී සිය මව් රට වන ශ්‍රී ලංකාවට ද දායාද කිරීම ආදර්ශ සම්පන්න බෝසත් ගුණයක් බව අගයමි.

චන්ද්‍රපාල මැතිතුමා අප සම්බුද්ධාලෝක බෞද්ධ මධ්‍යස්ථානයේ දායක සභාවේ සභාපති වශයෙන් ක්‍රියාකරමින් මෙහි අභිවෘද්ධියට කරන මහඟු මෙහෙවර ද මෙහිලා සිහිකරමි. චන්ද්‍රපාල පවුල තම සොයුරු සොයුරියන්ගේ සහයෝගයෙන් එක් වසරක් තුළ සිදුකරන විවිධ ශාසනික සේවාවන් දහසක් දෙනෙකුට යහපත පිණිස හේතුවී ඇතිබව මාගේ වසර 20ක සමීප ඇසුරෙන් සහ අත්දැකීමෙන් පුකට කළ හැකිය.

පිංකෙත භාවනා මධ්‍යස්ථානය පිහිටුවා පස් වසරක් ගතව ඇති නමුදු, එය කේන්ද්‍ර කරගනිමින් මාසික ධර්ම දේශනා සහ භාවනා වැඩසටහන්, අධ්‍යාපනය ලබන දරු දැරියන්ට පුස්තකාල පරිහරණය, වාර්ෂික ශිෂ්‍යත්ව, අඩු ආදායම් පවුල් සඳහා නිවාස ලබාදීම, “උදාර චරිතානාන්තු වසුධෛව කුටුම්භිකම්” යන සංස්කෘත පාඨයට අනුව මුළු ලොවම තම නෑදෑයන් සේ සැළකීමට හැකි වූ නිසායැයි නොපැකිළී ප්‍රකාශ කරන අතර මෙවැනි උත්තුංග ක්‍රියාවන් කිරීමට ලොව සෙස්සන්ට ද ආදර්ශයක් වේවායි පතමි.

මෙම “පිංකෙත භාවනා මධ්‍යස්ථානය සහ පුස්තකාලය” තුළින් ඉදිරියටත් පරමාදර්ශී සේවාවක් සඳහා තෙරුවන් සරණ සහ දෙවි රැකවරණය ලැබේවා යි ප්‍රාර්ථනා කරමි.
