Mr. Nabadawa Hewage Don Dines and Mrs. Karapitiya Pathirana Sesawathi; residents of Yakkalamulla village in Galle District in the Southern part of Sri Lanka, endowed (gifted) nine children to mother Sri Lanka. 

After the demise of those fortunate parents who lived a beautiful life amongst the love and affection of their children, the home they lived in (mentioned above) was converted in to a Pinketha (Field of Merits).  That is on the 27th day of July in the Year 2014. “Don Dines Library and Meditation Center” became a Pinketha (place of merits) by name with the blessed hands of Agga Maha Panditha Most Venerable Udugama Sri Buddharakkitha Thero; the Mahanayaka Thera of the Asgiri Chapter of the Siyam Maha Nikaya of Sri Lanka. 

Since then, a library has been maintained at the site to enhance the reading habits of the children of the village. Dhamma sermons and meditation programs are also organized and conducted monthly.

This place where many other charitable initiatives have been spearheaded has become the center for many charitable meritorious events such as patient care programs, providing wheelchairs and other equipment to the sick and helpless people, building of houses for the needy families in the area etc. Mr. N. H. Chandrapala, who is in the forefront of all these activities, has always had a dear heart in his life to support and fulfill these meritorious deeds to his beloved parents. That is his loving wife Mrs. Lalitha Chandrapala. She is also a frequent participant in these meritorious deeds wishing merits to her beloved parents.

 Currently residing in the United States of America and with the support of their friends who are living there, they live a religious (meritorious/blessed) life by flawlessly serving the Sri Lankan Buddhist monks (clergy) living in America and developing the temple. 

Although they live in a foreign country, they have not forgotten to render their unabated services, care and attention to the temples and the monks of Sri Lanka.

In appreciation of the religious and social services rendered;  “Sasana Keerthi” honorary name (title) was awarded by the Sri Kalyani Samagri Dharma Maha Sangha Sabha in honor of Mr. N. H. Chandrapala who is in the forefront of these activities.

To successfully carry out these processes I wish Mr. N. H. Chandrapala, his wife including all the family members best of health with long life.

පිංකෙතක මහිම

දකුණු සිරිලක ගාලු දිස්ත්‍රික්කයට අයත් යක්කලමුල්ල ග්‍රාමයේ පදිංචිව සිටි නබදව හේවගේ දොන් දිනෙස් මැතිඳු සහ කරාපිටිය පතිරණ සේසවතී මැතිණිය දූ දරුවන් නව දෙනකු සිරිලක් මවට දායාද කළහ. 

එම වාසනාවන්ත දෙමාපියන් දූ දරුවන් ද සෙනෙහස මැද ජීවත්ව සිට පරලෝකාප්‍රාප්ත වූ පසු ඉහත සදහන් නිවස පිංකෙතක් බවට පත්විය. ඒ  වර්ෂ 2014 ක් වූ ජූලි මස 27 වෙනිදාය. ශ්‍රී ලංකා සියම් මහානිකායේ අස්ගිරි පාර්ශවයේ මහානායකධූරන්දර අග්ග මහා පණ්ඩිත උඩුගම ශ්‍රී බුද්ධරක්ඛිත මහානායක ස්වාමීන් වහන්සේගේ පින්බර සුරතින් “දොන් දිනෙස් පුස්තකාලය සහ භාවනා මධ්‍යස්ථානය නමින් පිංකෙතක් බවට පත් වූ වගයි.

එතැන් පටන් ගම්වැසි දූදරුවන්ගේ පොත් කියවීමේ රුචිය වර්ධනය කිරීම සදහා එම ස්ථානයේ පුස්තකාලයක් පවත්වාගෙන යන අතර මාසික වශයෙන් ධර්මදේශනා සහ භාවනා වැඩසටහන් ද සංවිධානය කර සිදුකෙරේ.

තවත් විවිධ පුණ්‍යකර්මයන් සදහා මූලිකත්වය ගත් මෙම ස්ථානය කේන්ද්‍ර කොටගෙන රෝගී සත්කාරක වැඩසටහන් ක්‍රියාත්මක කෙරෙන අතර, රෝද පුටු ඇතුළු විවිධ උපකරණ රෝගී අසරණ ජනතාව වෙනුවෙන් ලබාදීමත්, ප්‍රදේශයේ දිළිඳු දරුපවුල් සදහා නිවාස ඉදිකරවා දීමත් ආදී විවිධ පිංකම් රැසක් සිදුකෙරේ.

තවත් සියලු කාර්යයන් සදහා මූලිකත්වය ගෙන ක්‍රියාකරන එන්.එච්.චන්ද්‍රපාල මැතිතුමාට තම ආදරණීය දෙමව්පියන්ට පිංපතා මෙකී පුණ්‍යකර්ම සම්පූර්ණ කරගැනීමට තවත් පිංවන්ත හදවතක් නිරන්තරයෙන් දිවිය හා බැඳී සිටී. ඒ ආදරණීය භාර්යාව වන ලලිතා චන්ද්‍රපාල මැතිණියයි. එතුමිය ද සිය ආදරණීය දෙමව්පියන්ට පිංපතා මෙම පිංකම්හි නිරන්තරයෙන් යෙදෙන්නීය.

ඔවුහු දැනට ඇමෙරිකා එක්සත් ජනපදයේ පදිංචිව සිටිමින්, එහි වෙසෙන සිය හිතවතුන්ගේ ද සහයෝගය ලබාගනිමින් ඇමෙරිකාවේ වැඩවාසය කරන ශ්‍රී ලාංකික මහා සංඝරත්නයට ඇප උපස්ථාන නොපිරිහෙලා ඉටුකරමින් හා විහාරස්ථාන දියුණුකරමින් ද ධාර්මික ජීවිත ගතකරති. එමෙන්ම විදේශයක වාසය කළ ද ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ වෙහෙර විහාරස්ථාන සහ භික්ෂූන් වහන්සේලාට කළයුතු සැළකිලි හා ඇප උපස්ථාන නොඅඩුව සිදුකිරීමට ද අමතක නොකරති.

යථෝක්ත ආගමික හා සමාජ සේවාවන් අගයමින් එම කටයුතු වලට මූලිකත්වය ගෙනක්‍රියාකරන එන්.එච්.චන්ද්‍රපාල මැතිඳුන්ට උපහාර පිණිස ශ්‍රී කල්‍යාණී සාමග්‍රී ධර්ම සංඝ සභාව විසින් “ශාසන කීර්ති” යන ගෞරව නාමය පුදන ලදී.

තවදුරටත් මෙම ක්‍රියාදාමයන් සාර්ථකව ඉටුකරන්නට සැදැහැති එන්.එච්.චන්ද්‍රපාල මහතාටත් එම මැතිණියඇතුළු පවුලේ සැමටත් නිදුක් නිරෝගී සුව හා දිගාසිරි ලැබේවායි ප්‍රාර්ථනා කරමි.
